Ballina, Ireland

Ballina is a sleepy town of 10,000 people in western Ireland. It is a little challenging to get to. After flying into the Irish capital of Dublin, one must travel by bus, train, or car for some hours.

[Check out our February 2023 newsletter in which God supernaturally connects us with a woman in this far away town. The article is entitled “I Will Show you Unique Ways to Reach People.” God is so good!]

We have spent several days in Ballina talking with local shop owners and service staff. We even promoted Bro. Kenneth E. Hagin books to a large local bookshop with a spiritual section containing almost no Christian books. The people are simple and quite friendly.

  • Ballina is famous for great salmon fishing in the Moy River, which flows through the center of town. In fact, one of the best spots is The Ridge Pool right in downtown Ballina.
  • Ballina is the ancestral home of one Joseph R. Biden, President of the United States.
  • The Republic of Ireland is around 69% Catholic and 14% “no religion.”
  • 1 in 65 people in Ireland is evangelical. This distinguishes it as the least evangelical English-speaking nation in the world.
