We travel with interested people or teams to areas with little gospel light. We carry out this work in phases:
In Phase 1, we explore these communities, pray, and find key local people who are open to God’s things and interested in helping us with logistics.
In Phase 2, we start holding Bible classes and conferences.
In Phase 3, when interest is high enough, we plant a church.
So far, we’ve planted a church in Burgos, Spain, and we’re nearly ready to begin Bible classes and conferences in Mons, Belgium. We’re also laying a Phase 1 foundation in the other cities.
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”
These words from Zechariah 4:6 are an important focus for our work. Because we go to places where we have no contacts, how will we connect with the right people and meet them at their point of need? How will we know the keys to working in their culture? What’s the best way to function in their city? We can prepare, but the only complete solution is to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. As we and our teams obey Him, He prepares us to do God’s work in these cities. Prayer is a powerful part of this. As we pray for the cities the Lord leads us to, He may open a door for us to plant a church, or He may prompt someone else to do it. Either way is wonderful!
